Amanda Stewart
Dance Instructor
Amanda is a certified teacher by examination under the Dance Masters Association, and continues to maintain her membership in good standing with Chapter #8. She is a graduate from Brock University with her Bachelor of Arts in Child and Youth Studies and her Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior divisions). As a member of the Ontario College of Teachers, she is certified to teach Kindergarten through grade 6. She is a member of Healthy Dancer Canada / The Dance Health Alliance of Canada, and has been dancing for over 30 years.
Amanda continues to study dance by attending various workshops and classes in Canada and the United States, including classes at “Broadway Dance Centre” in New York City and the Toronto Dance Teacher Expo. She has won numerous scholarships and awards across Canada and the United States including Grand Champion. Amanda auditioned and was chosen to be part of the “Canadian National Tap Team”, who competed and won the title of “World Champion” in Germany in 1998. Amanda has been involved in a number of community performances throughout her years of dance, and has coordinated dancers for the annual Thorold “Santa Claus Parade”. She taught dance programming for the Thorold Community Activities Group, as well as bringing the art of dance to many schools as part of the curriculum. She has shared dance with various elementary schools by coaching school dance teams, choreographing musical performances and composing liturgical dances.
